Agri Business

Chair

Agri Business as refers to the comprehensive range of activities and industries involved in the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products growing rapidly due to many reasons. This sector encompasses not only farming but also the various stages that add value to agricultural goods, including input suppliers (such as seed and fertilizer companies), processors, marketers, and distributors. In contrast, agriculture specifically pertains to the practice of cultivating crops and raising livestock. Therefore, while agriculture is a component of agribusiness, the latter covers a broader spectrum of activities that connect the farm to the consumer.

In 2024, the agricultural markets experienced notable fluctuations. Despite U.S. farmers achieving a record corn yield, soybean futures dropped to four-year lows due to a substantial Brazilian harvest, while wheat futures remained low amid a tight global market.
